SK255746

Take path at bottom end of layby (on right facing uphill) by sign “Curbar, please drive slowly”.
After 150 mtrs path bears right through gate (open access sign).
Path descends for short distance before levelling out.
Continue traversing across rough ground past tomb looking structure and metal gate.
Shortly after metal gate, path bears left and climbs to a cross roads of paths.
Continue uphill (signposted “Blackstone Edge”).
Path eventually levels off for short distance then turns left (avoid path straight on at this point).
Pass rocky outcrop on left and follow wide path uphill.
20 mtrs past bench seat on left path leads off right to Wellington’s Monument.
Return to main path from monument and turn right to continue on main path passing the prominent rock structure of Eagle Stone.
Continue to road.
Straight over road and up to kissing gate.
Through kissing gate and follow obvious path along Curbar Edge.
Path eventually drops relatively steeply and you’ll pass a cluster of silver birch trees on your left.
Continue for approx 300 mtrs past these trees to a walled enclosure on your right.
Take path left downhill at the start of the enclosure.
Path leads down to the starting point of some very well known rock climbs.
100 mtrs past start of the climbing area, take path left downhill (easy to miss this but it’s about 50 mtrs before the prominent rock pillar).
Follow path downhill and just before wooden gate take path on left.
Follow this past more tomb like structures and a series of metal gates.
Eventually path leads through a gate where you are forced to turn left uphill.
Follow path to road.
Turn right at road and head downhill back to car
