Out of car park and turn right uphill.
As road bends right, take lane on left, “The Nook”.
Up lane which becomes track and follow to the road at top at which point turn right.
Along road and 100 mtrs past end of coppice on right, take footpath on left uphill.
Continue on well defined path passing telecoms mast over to your left.
Straight over at lane signposted “Stoke Ford” and continue to a stile where walls converge.
Over stile and continue downhill to 2 bridges over 2 separate streams.
After 2nd bridge turn left, signposted “Abney” and follow path uphill always keeping stream down to your left.
Through metal gate at top and up to road and village of Abney.
Turn left on road, through village and take footpath (signposted “Nether Bretton”) on left opposite Ash House Farm.
Down to bridge over stream and up far side to gate.
Through gate turn left and continue uphill to another gate.
Continue uphill to stile in top corner of field with farmhouse ahead.
Follow signs around left side of farm and continue on farm track for 100 mtrs where path bears right to stile.
Straight on over style with wall on your left and then downhill to stile on left (wooden seat on right for butty stop!)
Downhill (through head high bracken in summer) to bridge over stream.
Continue to 2nd bridge.
After crossing 2nd bridge, follow path uphill for 200 mtrs (avoiding the path left downhill after 20 mtrs) until path forks.
Take left fork which then climbs steeply uphill (steps towards top) to gate.
Continue uphill to another gate then bear slightly left towards stile at left end of the cottage at top of field.
At road in front of cottage turn left and follow lane then track to road at top.
Left onto road and follow the road round (sharp right and later sharp left) passing Trap House on right to Highcliffe Barns on your left, at which point take the track on right downhill back to car park.
