3.87 miles (6.22 Km)

Car park by toilets bottom end of Wetton

Head uphill past The Royal Oak Inn and where road turns sharp left, head straight on up the lane ahead, passing Hill Farm Cottage on your left.
Through gate at top of lane, up to stile and straight on to stile and gate.
Straight ahead, flat at first then downhill to stile.
Diagonally right over next field to stile.
Over stile and take stone stile immediately on left, then turn right downhill.
Follow path downhill keeping wall on right.
At bottom turn left onto wide path and follow this downhill.
Where path almost levels out, take path on right (waymarker) uphill to gate.
Through gate, uphill for short distance and at top by waymarker, turn right downhill to Wetton Mill.
Cross Bridge beyond café and either take road left or continue 20 mtrs and take left turn via ford (or bridge a short distance upstream). This is the quieter of the 2 roads.
Where 2 roads converge, cross bridge onto Manifold way.
Follow Manifold Way for approx ¾ km then take path on left over bridge.
Head uphill on excellent path for approx 200 mtrs then take path on right signposted “Thor’s Cave”. (If you’re not feeling energetic, it’s possible to continue straight on here, missing out Thor’s Cave and continuing up to road where you’d turn right back into Wetton).
At Thor’s Cave, take path uphill on left (if you’re looking towards the cave) to a gate. If you still have plenty in your legs, continue uphill at this point to the top with stunning views in all directions. Then back down to the gate.
Through gate and follow the well defined path, downhill at first then uphill to a stile.
Left over stile onto farm track and follow this to the road at top.
Right onto road into Wetton and take first right back to car park.
